  • FITASC Sporting World Champion 2014
  • England Sporting Team Captain in 2012 (winning Team Gold Medal and Individual Bronze Medal) and twelve England Team Caps.
  • Past Winner of the Clay Shooting Classic, British Open Sportrap Championship and multiple domestic titles.

I first started shooting at the age of 13, when some serious health problems had led me to give up any form of contact sports for the foreseeable future. Over the coming years I would spend much time in and out of hospital, and shooting was a big drive for me to keep me focussed and to have something to work towards.

During this time I progressed through the junior ranks, starting off by winning county level sporting shoots and working my way up through regional titles, up to Nationals culminating in winning the British Open junior title plus having proudly represented my Country several times along the way.

On leaving the juniors I was forced into making a choice; continue with my current method of shooting which was heavily timing based, and could lead to inconsistent results which would limit my success in the much more competitive seniors, or work on making changes to my own game and see how far I could go.

It was an easy choice for me, and between my job as a labourer and ground work at Sporting Targets I set about dissecting my own game and making the changes I felt were most relevant to me, keeping the bits that worked and adapting the areas I knew were letting me down. This has very much lead to my current coaching style.

This flexible approach has not only lead to me winning National team places as a senior numerous times (both England and GB in Sporting and FITASC), but winning National titles as a senior, podium places at World Championships, and of course my highlight of a World FITASC Championship at the age of 29.

I can proudly say I have also coached my clients to National, Grand Prix, European and World titles across many countries, as well as continuing to work with aspiring club and regional shooters not just across the U.K. but throughout the world.

My focus is very much now biased towards making my clients the best they can be in whatever level they choose to compete, I happily take on almost all levels as long as the shooter is willing to learn, and currently have shooters on my books from 15 years old up to 84, so age is no factor as far as I am concerned. (I will always refer true beginners to one of my preferred local grounds to build a base up before they come to me, as this will be a much cheaper way of them getting started)

I can combine my technical approach, with the skills of Ed Lyons; the leading authority in sports vision, to create a whole package to maximise students potential. This has shown to be a popular option and has lead to some fantastic results from club to World level.

"My focus is very much now biased towards making my clients the best they can be in whatever level they choose to compete"

I spend most of my time in the U.K. but do several overseas trips each year and I am always happy to discuss this as an option if you have a shooting range and would like me to come for a week as a guest instructor, I do this at several venues and can always put you in touch with one of these grounds to give you an idea of how I operate.

I am always happy to chat when between lessons if you ever have questions or just want to say " hello", and am easily contactable via social media channels and phone for existing customers - this is one of the areas I pride myself on, I am always at the end of the phone if people have questions or issues, the lessons don’t always end at the shooting range!

Shoot Straight!
